Be aware that you should have everything you will need, including toiletries and other items, when you are packing to start your first shift on the rig. Most shifts are 12 hours on and 12 hours off, which doesn’t leave a lot of personal time. In addition, you will get meals onboard, but there isn’t a store down the street, so take everything you will need for several weeks.
